Training Toolbox
“I used to look at my dog and think, ‘if you were a littler smarter you could tell me what you're thinking,’ and he’d look at me like he was saying, ‘if you were a little smarter, I wouldn't have to.’”
—Fred Jungclaus
It is the responsibility of the trainer to equip you with the tools you will need to not only train your dog now, but be able to problem solve in the future using the methods conveyed. There are a variety of techniques employed by One Smart Puppy, including:
- Luring
- Shaping
- No-Reward-Markers
Julie’s training methods include a heavy emphasis on timing, rate of reinforcement and setting your dog up for success.
Keep in mind that the trainer is there to train you to be able to train your dog. You will be assigned homework each week - you and your dog must practice in order to see results.
